Excellent mail client from the makers of Firefox
This dedicated program is free to download and install for all current Windows users. It is is a portion of the Microsoft Essentials 2012 package. Please note that this app is slightly different from those used in conjunction with Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 systems.
Like all of the other software applications offered through Microsoft, Live Mail is completely safe to use. The only catch is that clients need to download this bundle from the official Microsoft website. This guarantees that they receive a trusted version.
To be clear, this form of email has not been updated since 2012. It is nonetheless a fact that it is still supported by all current operating systems. Having said this, some facets of Live Mail might no longer be functional as they were in the past. It is sometimes recommend that users change their email provider to Microsoft Outlook.
Although Live Mail is more than five years old, it is still compatible with the Windows 10 operating system. It should be mentioned that this software is not currently installed within Windows 10; it will have to be downloaded from the official Microsoft website.
Windows Live Mail stores all contacts within a database called DBStore. Although these databases are not commonly used for backup files, they can be exported into a separate folder if required. It is possible to access this file by utilising either the "run" or "search" function within Windows.
This email server is quite flexible, as it is able to support multiple user accounts. Once you have accessed your email, choose "add another email account". Multiple users can be added. Once the desired number has been achieved, simply click "finish".
Although you are able to work offline while logged into a Live Mail account, you will need to have an Internet connection in order to access the account itself.
Live Mail has not been updated in more than five years. However, it is important to mention that this email bundle is still compatible with the latest version of Windows (Windows 10).
You will first need to hold down the Windows key and press the letter "R". Then, type "appwiz.cpl" into the field. This displays all installed programs. Locate Windows Essentials and choose "Change/Uninstall" from the menu. You can then opt to repair the file as opposed to delete it completely.
After navigating to the official Microsoft website, scroll down to the section entitled "Microsoft Essentials". A separate box will appear. From within this box, you will have the option to download and install Windows Live Mail from a selection of other choices.
